There are more than 500km of hiking trails in the area including the Iceline and Larch Valley trails and guided hikes to the Burgess Shale UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Kicking Horse River offers great whitewater rafting, canoeing and kayaking experiences for adventure seekers while Emerald Lake, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake are ideal locations for visitors to canoe or rent boats to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the area.

   Fly-fishing and exceptional lake and river fishing can be found nearby on the Kicking Horse River and at  Moraine, Emerald, Ross and Wapta lakes . A national park fishing permit is required.
